Four days of fun in the Midcoast! Local groups are joining together to throw a four day party with music, parades, fireworks, and breathtaking natural beauty. Make a long weekend of it and celebrate in style.
As part of the 4th of July holiday celebrations throughout the Mid-coast region, the Camden-Rockport-Lincolnville Chamber of Commerce will be staging a community-financed fireworks display in Camden Harbor on the evening of July 3rd: an eve of independence celebration to honor our heritage and our history.
For 2010 Camden will become America’s music village on Saturday July 3rd, with four different ensembles performing a wide range of American music- from country to marches to doo-wop and more- all capped with a spectacular fireworks display above the most beautiful harbor in Maine. This year’s schedule is as follows:
Thursday, July 1: Bay Chamber Concerts presents 50th Anniversary Opening Night
8pm, Rockport Opera House. Performers: Shmuel Ashkenasi, violin and Peter Serkin, piano.
Bay Chamber’s 50th Summer Season opens with two of America’s musical icons.of LeClair, Berio, Moszkowski, and Beethoven. Tickets $25-35 adults, $8 for 18 and under. For information- baychamberconcerts
Friday, July 2: Family Fun Day at the Camden Snow Bowl
Ski lift rides to the top of Ragged Mountain; mountain bike races; family fun and games; food and picnics; For more information, visit camdensnowbowl.
Saturday, July 3: Music by the Sea presented by Camden Rotary, Harbor Park, Camden
Three exciting bands will be performing in the Harbor Park with a beautiful backdrop of Camden Harbor from noon until 5pm.
Saturday, July 3: Bay Chamber Concerts present a Doo-Wop Bash
8pm, Camden Harbor Park - Free and open to the public. Performers: Emil Stuccio, The Classics & The Chiclettes. Harken back to the 1950s and 1960s, to the pop-oriented R&B music that fueled adolescent love. Includes display of classic cars on Atlantic Avenue. Harbor Park, Camden. Reprise of the Doo-Wop bash, starting at 9:45pm (post fireworks). see also
Saturday, July 3: Camden-Rockport Lincolnville Chamber of Commerce present Camden Harbor Fireworks
9.15pm, downtown Camden: watch from beautiful Harbor Park, a restaurant terrace, or on the water as we celebrate our independence with fantastic fireworks over Maine’s most beautiful harbor. Weather date Monday, July 5th.
