Windjammer Festival

Come and celebrate Camden’s maritime heritage during the Camden Windjammer Festival as our harbor hosts a dozen magnificent schooners.  In the great age of sail, four-, five-, and even six-masted schooners were launched into Camden Harbor.  From the windjammer business in the old days to the elegant yachts that visit or call Camden home every summer, sailing ships have always helped define this beautiful town where the mountains meet the sea.

Every year on Labor Day weekend, thousands of visitors from all over the country gather along the wharfs and parks to explore the ships themselves. You can learn salty crafts and skills, swap sea stories or sing in talent shows and concerts that appeal to landlubbers and swabbies alike.  Now being held for the sixteenth year, the Camden Windjammer Festival has become a wildly popular event for both tourists and locals.
