Captain Swift Inn
If you are a history or architecture buff, you’ll appreciate the authenticity of the fully restored Federal period Captain Swift Inn. Enjoy our home as you relax and step back to a time when hosting guests was important.
Captain Frank Swift established Maine’s first passenger schooner fleet while living in this white clapboard village landmark inn. Our house retains it’s wonderful wide pine floors, chair rails, exposed beams, intricate moldings, and five fireplaces. Every morning, you’ll be served a full, hearty breakfast in the dining room.
The inn is open year-round. Summers are ideal here on the coast, and in the autumn the foliage is stunning. In the winter, a restorative peacefulness settles over the village; in the spring, our gardens announce the arrival of the season.
