Time: 02:00 PM
City: Camden
State: Maine
Location: Camden Public Library
Sandi Cirillo, featured artist for the month of January in the Picker Room Gallery of the Camden Public Library, will be having a reception and demonstration of how she creates her fiber artwork. This will take place on Sunday, January 6 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.

Sandi has been a fiber/mixed media artist for over 25 years, specializing in creating art which pleases the eye and craves to be touched. The inspiration for her work focuses on the textural qualities of manmade and natural fibers which she incorporates into her work.

Her work reflects her love of traveling throughout Maine where she lives and her appreciation of the natural world around her.

Sandi is a retired art educator who gives many different fiber workshops all over the Northeast and North Carolina. She has recently been creating solar plate etchings, a printmaking process she learned from several workshops she has taken. Some of these will also be on display at the library. She prints many of her images on silk fabric to enhance the beauty of the design.

Sandi's work can be seen at Local Color Gallery in Belfast as well as at the Lupine Cottage and the Lighthouse Arts Center in Bucksport. She is currently a teaching artist and works with the local Senior College in Belfast, teaching drawing, art history and fiber classes. Sandi also teaches many different workshops at her studio in Searsport where she lives.
