Take a Walk Back in History

Did you know that Camden is home to four National Historic Landmarks? Would you like to learn how the Camden Public Library quadrupled in size by building an addition completely under ground? These are just a few of the interesting gems you'll discover during the Friday afternoon walking tour of Camden.

The tour has been a collaboration of the Camden Public Library and the Camden Area Business Group since the summer of 2012. Your tour guides, Dave Jackson and Amy Rollins, love to educate locals and visitors alike about the philanthropists, architects and citizens who made their mark on Camden back in the early part of the 20th century.

Learn about the industries that made this town tick back in the day, understand how the power of water and fire shaped us, and get to know two influential young women, who each in their own way, made lasting contributions to Camden's culture and landscape.

Camden's Historic Walking Tour is offered every Friday, from the end of June to the middle of September. To reserve your spot, call the Camden Public Library at 207-236-3440.
