Business Description The Towne Motel is easy to find and perfectly located: just look for the big blue sign two blocks south of downtown Camden on Coastal Route 1. We're a friendly small motel, with retro charm, modern inn amenities, and the best rates in Camden! Our rooms are immaculate (due to our committed team of housekeepers) and feature flat screen cable TV, free and secure wifi, Keurig coffeemakers, Paya organic bath products, Simmons Beautyrest mattresses, and refrigerators.

Between May and October, we serve delicious continental breakfasts in the parlor and dining room of our historic 1850s home: fresh baked goods like Morning Glory muffins, Maine Blueberry Crumble, glazed baked donuts, Maple Cheddar biscuits, breakfast energy cookies, and breads and coffee cakes in all tastes and shapes. There's also our popular homemade granola, daily fresh fruit and/or yogurt, and - when we get bored - something a bit more unusual like deviled breakfast eggs or a theme breakfast. With prior notice, we can accommodate most special dietary needs.

If you're tired of driving or trying to find parking, you can find everything you need in walking distance: Camden's exceptional gift shops and book stores, galleries, restaurants and cafés, the Camden Opera House, the beautiful public library and amphitheater, and of course the harbor, with all its schooner cruise options and access to open waters. Parks, the yacht club, and Laite Memorial Beach are just a short walk away also.

If you want to venture out a bit, we're a hop and a skip from Camden Hills State Park and Mt. Battie, miles and miles of hiking trails, vineyards, orchards, golfing, and several clean blue lakes full of swimming, boating and fishing options. Within minutes, you can catch a ferry to Islesboro or Vinalhaven, or take a walk along Rockport harbor to the Children''s Chapel and Aldermere farm with its Galloway ("Oreo") cows. Rockland's many shops, galleries, museums, and restaurants are less than 15 minutes to the South, and Lincolnville Beach and the artistic, eclectic town of Belfast are just a quick drive North.

Towne motel owners Katja and Siobhan are enjoying their new Maine innkeeping life, especially their guests. We love to give you the kind of attention you might get at a B&B - - or, if you prefer, all the privacy you need. We love to get to know our guests, but realize that's not always possible - you're busy enjoying your visit, and we're busy helping to make it enjoyable. Since we can't always see enough of you while you're here, we also enjoy your virtual visits before and afterwards - on Facebook, Tripadvisor, our blog, and by email. We even love snail mail and phone calls!

And we wouldn't be the same without our long time regulars, who've seen Towne Motel go through several incarnations and innkeepers, and who seem to appreciate the changes along with the traditions, faithfully returning every year or even more frequently. Our many wonderful guests, along with our staff and the legacy of its previous innkeepers, help make the Towne Inn the fun and friendly landmark it has been for more than sixty years.
