Camden Opera House: Vicky Andres and Life Itself | 61 Ghosts

MaineMadeMusic presents Vicky Andres and Life Itself with 61 Ghosts Concert
July 20th, 7:30 pm at the Camden Opera House

The first up in our brand new MaineMadeMusic series! MaineMadeMusic is a concert series designed to bring the best of up-and-coming Maine music to the Midcoast. And this July, The Camden Opera House is proud to present Vicky Andres and Life Itself co-presenting with 61 Ghosts for an unprecedented Opera House experience!

Rockland-based Vicky Andres is infamous along the midcoast for her passionate live performances. Vicky epitomizes intricate guitar work and dynamic vocals, mixing funk and single note lines with flowing chord progressions and a songwriting sensibility that hooks the listener and never lets go. Together Vicky Andres, bassist Max McFarland, and drummer Jason Dean make up Vicky Andres and Life Itself, delivering an intense performance that is edgy, energetic, and positive, fitting somewhere between Alternative, Rock, and Funk. Says David Maxwell of Tone-Cool Records: "Vicky Andres should be acknowledged as being among the leading singer songwriters of her generation. Her songs – self confessional, passionate, life affirming, full of poetic imagery and always intelligent, combined with her rich, powerfully engaging, slightly on the edge voice and imaginative, sensitive guitar playing – draws the listener in and never lets up. Vicky is truly an outstanding talent. She needs to be heard by many!!!”

61 Ghosts are the duo of Joe Mazzari on guitar and vocals and the singularly named Dixie on drums and backing vocals. Together, Joe and Dixie are a duo that draws upon their own personal musical influences and their combined passion and need to create a style of music all their own -- one that's influenced by the urban streets and the restless spirits of the Mississippi Hills. 61 Ghosts mix steamy grooves, razor-sharp dynamics, and high energy performances to create what they refer to as Alternative Blues. Gerry Casey of Music Critic calls them the "Bonnie & Clyde of Rock n' Roll”.
Join us for this incredible night of MaineMadeMusic! And stay tuned for additional titles in this exciting new series!
