When it’s time to reconnect and reinvigorate, setting is everything. Here’s our special Camden recipe for helping you enjoy “together time”—away from it all.

Indulge your palate with exquisite dining. Be inspired with an afternoon spent at one of our world-class museums. Bask in the natural beauty around you. Step outside of time as you stroll our town’s picturesque streets, lined with historic buildings and churches, quaint shops and restaurants. Or enjoy doing nothing at all!

If you’ll let it, Camden will delight and refresh you at every turn.

Here are just a few romantic ideas to consider as you plan your trip to Camden.

Picnic lunch on Curtis Island

Kayak out to this lovely island park in Camden Harbor, accessible by boat only. While the lighthouse is not open to the public, you will find plenty to enjoy. A trail circles the island and in the center you will find a quiet meadow with a rope swing. Tip: there is no electricity, running water or amenities on Curtis Island, so be prepared.

Visit Megunticook Lake

You can swim or relax on the shore at Barrett’s Cove Beach, a beautiful spot that is rarely crowded. The water is crystal clear and you are sure to see loons and other birds and wildlife.

Soak up the romantic atmosphere!

Camden’s hotels and B&Bs are famous for their romantic rooms, porches and grounds.

Enjoy an outdoor concert or film

Camden’s Amphitheatre and Harbor Park overlooks the water, and during summer evenings the park plays host to a regular schedule of live music performances, film screenings, and Shakespeare performances.
